    As with any service, please give as much notice as possible, especially if you are planning to stop learning through half terms.
  • Is there an age limit playing violin?
    There's absolutely no age limit starting to play this beautiful instrument.
  • Can I learn the violin on an electric violin?
    Electric violins are usually aimed at musicians who perform and need amplification. They are used by musicians who already play acoustic violins and will be for a specific genre of music. They aren’t used for teaching generally. However, if you have a passion for learning an electric violin you can of course do this!
  • How can I book an ABRSM violin exam?

  • What's the highest grade I can do?
    You can learn up to ABRSM grade 8 with me.
  • Can I book trial without paying for a package?

    You absolutely can, direct debit is one of the most preferred option for many students.
  • How many hours notice should I give if I can not attend the lesson?
    I kindly ask to notify me at least 5 hours prior to the lesson, so can cancel the session for free of charge.
  • How old do I have to be to play the violin?
    Children as young as 3 can learn the violin. Violins come in different sizes to accommodate children as they grow. The smallest look like toys, but despite their cuteness they work as well as a full-size violin!
  • What if I decide to finish learning violin?
    Violin is a wonderful instrument to play, however it isn't for everyone. I kindly ask if you no longer wish to continue please finish the remaining lessons before stopping.
  • Can I learn other genres than classical violin?
    Yes, you can. Violin lessons uk also offer Irish fiddle, folk or pop genres.
  • What ages of students do you teach?
    I currently teach a wide age range of students. My youngest is 3 and my oldest is 62.
  • How can I become a long-term student?
    You can simply notify me after your first trial lesson ends.
  • What role should the parents take in the lessons and in practice?
    I encourage parents to sit in on lessons so that they can take an active role in helping their child practice. The Violin is a complex instrument with many intricate details, especially relating to posture. It is of enormous benefit to the student to be able to have a parent help them during their practice, in order to help secure a strong elementary technique.
